I lived in Berlin for a year before I was at Hauptbahnhof right at the perfect time to realize that not all Germans were urbane, sophisticated, extremely cultured, and even painfully lovely. There were suburban German hooligans everywhere with their milk crates filled with pilsner on the S and U being all loutish and singing soccer shanties.
