It's a terrible time to be a climate activist
It's a terrible time to be a climate activist because the threat of dying today from COVID-19 takes the wind out of the sails of dying tomorrow. People might even live harder, faster, dirtier, smoggier, make more babies, do more travel, buy faster cars just to celebrate being alive. Alan Furst said "live today, for tomorrow we die" and not "conserve today, for we might die in thirty years." It's a really hard sell to a country that fails every marshmallow test ever invented.
