It's perfectly permissible to draw my firearm and shoot someone
I was instructed by my firearm instructor that the law doesn't allow me to brandish my firearm or threaten people with my pistol but it's perfectly permissible to draw my firearm and shoot someone if I feel physically threatened for my life. This can include the threat of being beaten up, the threat of a knife, the threat of very aggressive and threatening verbal abuse of the person is right there in your personal space, right there in your face like a drill instructor in your face. It's within reason to push that person away from you with your weak hand and then shoot them with your pistol.
