If you shoot someone, kill them

The moment that you start to explore the message boards about carry culture you learn a bunch of things: If you shoot someone, kill them. Because if they survive, they will sue you in civil court.

If you shoot someone, only shoot them in what's called center mass. Center mass is, generally-speaking, the chest. About the size of a paper plate, at the center of the chest. Where all the vital organs are. The biggest, easiest, place to shoot where all the targets are vital towards supporting life. The goal is not to kill, the goal is to stop them from continuing the attack or assault. Since there's not a bullet known—even shotgun blasts, high-caliber bullets, or shotgun slugs that will physically throw anyone off their feet and into the wall behind them. That's physically impossible.

While shooting someone in the chest again and again for as long as the attack continues is barbaric, it also doesn't often always stop a committed attacker. Shock and pain don't set in immediately.
