I'll probably, legally, shoot you to death

You decide to grab me by the collar and shake me, making me feel like things are just going to escalate from here? I'll probably, legally, shoot you to death. If you mug me, even without a gun or knife, just with words and intimidation, you'll get my bullets instead of my wallet.

If you just don't like the cut of my jib and you decide to have a little poke at me for sport because that's how you predate? I'll shoot you the moment you get within 7 yards of me. And 21-feet, I was trained, is my bubble. That's even further than social distancing which is only two yards, six feet.

It's called the 21 Foot Rule: "by the time an individual determines a deadly threat, draws his firearm, and places two shots, an attacker has closed up to 21-feet between them." Which reinforces a gun carrier's idea that one should have their firearm drawn and ready if they're approaching with a weapon, even a knife or any weapon, even fists if you're small, old, a woman, or vulnerable.

Even though you might surely end up arrested for shooting someone with a pipe or a golf club or even a knife, people console (and empower or enable) themselves with sayings like "it's better to be judged by twelve than to be carried by six."
