Spotify 451

Class action boycott against Spotify over Joe Rogan? Tyranny! That's why we have senators and electoral college and why America is a Republic: to avoid this sort of mob mentality. That said, very amusing to watch. Anything that brings more attention to folks actually watching and listening to anything red labeled as "dangerous misinformation and disinformation that will kill people" is pretty important to keep accessible and available. Historically, one should search out and quickly buy, read, and preserve the sort of history, literature, essays, interviews, and autobiographies that the authorities want to keep you from. Fahrenheit 451-level fun. I can't believe I get to see it with my own eyes! This is great. And they're blaming "public health" and "your own safety" and "to protect you" for it—which is classic distopian schtick. This is priceless! I don't care about Joe Rogan, per se, as I'm not even a regular listener, but this is happening all over YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, so my interest is more Jungian, more about Rogan as archetype. As the face of the oppression. Here's the thing: I fancy the tyrants don't even see their tyranny when they look in the mirror. They are doing this, as far as they're concerned, honestly and selflessly paternalistically sacrificing themselves at the altar of saving us from ourselves. Because it looks like, to them, that we're trying to kill ourselves and them with our selfishness about the masks and the vaccines and the pseudoscience and the horse worm protocols. They're willing to break all the freedoms because there are lives at stake and we people are apparently both suicidal and okay with manslaughter. I get it but it's not okay. It's wrong.
